New Bums - Donovan Quinn and Ben Chasny - have recently released their debut album, "Voices In A Rented Room" via Drag City, and we are pleased to announce UK tour dates this June.
Both Ben Chasny and Donovan Quinn are no strangers to touring the UK; however this June, they hope to play the less well-trodden tour paths, combining their yearning to perform live, with their deep interest in English and European mythology and folklore. Ben Chasny explains: "After reading Robert Graves' 'White Goddess' I realized that although I have been to the UK many times, I always seem to play the same tour circuit. I wanted to do something a little more inspired so we tried to do a 'Robert Graves' tour."
The Robert Graves they are referring to is the late British poet and author, who argued all pure poetry was derived from a pagan deity which spanned Europe. Although the locations are seemingly unlinked and certainly off the beaten track, New Bums tour will take them to some of the places where paganism and ancient cultures have left their mark.
