London three-piece, First are set to release a new single on YSB Records on the 26th of February 2016.
‘Intended Repercussions’, self-recorded last year in a disused police station in Deptford, will be available digitally and is the first indication of what to expect from the band’s second album ‘Shriek’ which is released in April.
The new album is the follow up to their 2013 debut ‘Hermes Has Left The Building’ and features fourteen brand new tracks that are without doubt the band’s most accomplished and strongest set of songs to date.
Formed nearly three years ago, First are led by singer-songwriter and guitarist Ben Fox Smith, former frontman of teen cult rockers Stony Sleep (Big Cat Records) and most recently Serafin. Tom Moody (bass) and The Display Team’s Jim Devese (drums) make up the rest of the line up and the trio have been playing in and around London over the last few years to ever expanding and eager audiences.
Taking inspiration from the likes of The Pixies and Pavement, they released their debut album ‘Hermes Has Left The Building’ which featured the singles ‘Champagne With Sean Penn’ and ‘Kate And I’, which was soon followed by their most recent release from 2013 ‘Unconsciousness/ Happiness’.
