Leeds Post-punk quartet Post War Glamour Girls have shared ‘Pollyanna Cowgirl’ the next single from their new album ‘Swan Songs’ released next week on Hide & Seek Records.
Some words from frontman James Smith on the single -
"The closest we've ever got to a pop song I reckon! First it was a droning slow ballad, then it had this wonky tribal drumbeat without any cymbals or snare, but every which way we played it, it felt like it was begging to be a straight up pop song, or at least our perception of what a pop song is. It takes it's name from a nickname in The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, about a girl content and happy with her simple, small town life. The lyrics can be perceived in whichever way you want them to be."
