Smoochy reggae meets white funk and an indified take on smug pseudo-soul on this effort. You have to ask ‘why?’ I mean, the band describe themselves as being like ‘the Bee Gees on diazepam.’ Like that’s supposed to be a positive thing? There are some nice dubby reverbs on the drums in places, but ultimately, this is, in actual fact, utmost toss.
