Review: 'Homeless Hill'
'Invincible'

-  Album: 'Invincible'
-  Genre: 'Rock'

Our Rating:
There are hints of The Cult and Alice in Chains about Homeless Hill’s sound. Their template also draws on elements of 70s rock and invites comparisons with the likes of Soundgarden and their own preferred reference points, Stone Temple Pilots. Consequently (and thankfully) Sonically, at least, ‘Invincible’ is more ripped jeans grunge than big hair and spandex rock, although the long, drawling rawkin’ ‘yeaaaaaahhh!’ that kick-starts the rather hackneyed ‘Broken Bones’ does come perilously close. Still, even then they manage to kick out some chunky riffs and meaty choruses. Vocalist / guitarist Darin Curtis brings plenty of swagger and grunt to the grunge-tinged vibe of the album, and Homelesss Hill at least stand out from the endless sea of identikit posers that pass as ‘rock’ bands these days.
