Our Rating:
Heidi Kilpeläinmen is a Finnish woman with a sci-fi image and a quirky line in playful synth-pop.

Chances are that, if you know this, you have already come across the Imaginature album from whence this single comes. In which case, the main reason for grabbing this release is to hear the two remixes.

The Plaid Inashed Mix is not wildly different from the original, although it does feature a lively Four Tet style intro.

The Acoustic Ukulele mix is another story altogether. It does what any good alternative version should do, and makes you hear the song with fresh ears.

This unplugged rendition strips it of any arty-pop pretensions to reveal it as for what it is - a madcap party tune with nursery rhyme characteristics.

HK assumes the role of a patient iceberg with plenty going on below the surface as she seeks a frozen mate - "I'm melting for you"

In the video for the original song, she does a freaky dance in a white body suit to a backdrop of icy water and falling snow.

For the acoustic version, she keeps things relatively simple, strumming her ukulele wearing a ripped paper sack.

Eat your heart out, George Formby!
