Review: 'Bearfoot Beware'
'Bruises and Business'

-  Genre: 'Indie'

Our Rating:
Leeds purveyors of indie / art rock are going from strength to strength, and their real strength is not giving a fuck for fads or fashions, and instead pursuing their own idiosyncratic, quirky furrow. They describe themselves as ‘energetic’ and ‘scrappy’ and as ‘merging the elemental characteristics of math, noise and alternative independent rock, and displaying a knack for pop sensibilities.’ They achieve all of this and more on this three-tracker, which bounces hither and thither in an explosion of ideas and guitars.

‘Trellum’ is choppy, irregular, mathy, angular and persistent; ‘Fox Boy’ is urgent, chunky and wired; ‘My Love is a Seagull’ is a jerky jolt that slaps the listener round the face and runs away before they know what’s hit them.
