After a promising debut, Circle of Reason’s follow-up comes as something of a disappointment. The grunge-rock leanings are still present, but ‘These Hands and This Mind’ places more emphasis on melodic mid-pace tracks and suffers for it. ‘Don’t be Still’ is a terribly pedestrian chunk of mid-pace standard rock and more or less sets the template. With the exception of the slightly more fiery ‘Themes Amongst Thieves’, this is a depressingly dull affair.
