Review: 'GOLDI'
'Typa Chick'

-  Label: '.'
-  Genre: 'Dance' -  Release Date: '9th December 2013'-  Catalogue No: '.'

Our Rating:
The release of Typa Chick will mark the debut single from urban artist GOLDI. Goldi is clearly not one to be subtle. She has been writing songs since the age of seven and I hope this means that, in the future, she has more to say than "I don't need protection because I love all the attention."

The video shows Goldi in several sexually suggestive poses and doesn't do much to flesh out her character. However, this accusation of a lack of depth is perhaps unfair, as I doubt the dance floors of the UK will care. The song plays to this strength by offering an enjoyable urban track. The synths are grimy and grinding and the drums help to punctuate the track, whilst also giving it urgency. Typa Chick ticks a lot of boxes, but I can't help feel that Goldi needs to do a little more than this if she craves lasting success.
