Review: 'Albert Lee & Hogan's Heroes'
'Frettening Behaviour'

-  Label: 'Heroic Records'
-  Genre: 'Alt/Country' -  Release Date: 'Out Now'

Our Rating:
Lovers of country music will have no doubt come across the work of Albert Lee - a veteran guitarist with decades of top level experience behind him. Those fans of the genre will not be surprised to learn then that this album, the latest release from Albert Lee with his band of fellow vets called Hogan's Heroes, is really very good.

Mixing cover versions of well known songs with original tracks written by the band, the album opens with a new, high quality country take on Greenday's famous rock track 'Time of Your Life' and never really lets up from there.

It's a well structured album, with some obvious thought going into the song order. The pace wavers as the band move from stomping roots folk to heartfelt ballads and country standards, taking in a total of 14 tracks which are all squarely within their genre but never seem tired.

Non-country lovers will not give this 9/10 as we have, but from the point of view of roots lovers, this is superb stuff.
