Review: 'Bright and Loud'
'Light Echoes'

-  Album: 'Light Echoes'
-  Genre: 'Indie'

Our Rating:
Brooklyn, NY has long been a thriving hub of musical creation, and given its density of population, cultural diversity and the fact that NY is conceivably one of the craziest places on the planets for humans to exist it’s hardly surprising. It’s perhaps also not surprising that Bright and Loud, who hail from Brooklyn, should list such diverse influences when describing their album, ‘Light Echoes’. Specifically, they cite ‘influences of metal, indie, and electronic music decorating a rock familiarity’. ‘decorating a rock familiarity’? Sounds like bollocks to me. As does much of the album, sadly. It’s not so much the rock familiarity that’s the problem, as the fact it’s half-arsed poppy nonsense, and the other styles are feeble affectations. Not cool.
