One thing Arrows of Love’s latest single doesn’t do is suck. After rapidly earning themselves a reputation for being an incendiary live act – wild, unpredictable, the very essence of rock ‘n’ roll – backed up with a string of cracking single releases, they London-based foursome preface the release of their debut album with another scuzzed-out blast of scratchy grunge rock.
Within the first four seconds, Nema’s spitting fire and venom at some ‘bastard cheating whore’ over a splintering guitar-line that would sit (un)comfortably, splayed and in angular on a Shellac album. ‘Suck’ is two minutes and fifty six seconds of psychotic racket that says – if you didn’t already know - that the album’s a blinder.
