Thanks to the arrival of the new EP by heavy-hitting blues rock duo Knuckle, my hellish week got a whole lot better. Cranking out a low-down and dirty rawk grind, the Huddersfield pair pack some heavy punches on this six track sonic riot.
The bruising rock beast that is ‘Hand Grenade for a Heart’ crashes in with the ballsy swagger of Queens of the Stone Age and lands with some serious weight. ‘Ejector Seat’ reveals the band’s lighter side, manifesting as a lo-fi indie rocker with a distinct melody until, of course, it explodes in a tornado of guitars and thunderous drums and the lyrics twist from joyous to pissed off.
‘Bad Brains’ speaks for itself, and previous single ‘Living Hell’ makes another appearance for those ho missed it firs time around.
Top notch.
