Moth Rah is Cassandra Solon Parry – or Cassandra Solon Parry is Moth Rah, depending on how one looks at it, and he draws her inspiration from fairytales, nature and 60s prog folk artists as much as from contemporary synth based, electronic pop.
Parry’s clearly concerned with making art rather than mere music, and heavy shades of Zola Jesus filter through these two delicately carved slices of broodingly ethereal electro. ‘Anima’ is breathily atmospheric, while rumbling beats thunder ominously through ‘Forest’ and it’s a captivating song that’s sympathetically produced. Put simply, this release has a lot going for it.
