Review: 'Unforseen Prophecy'
'Burn the Skies'

-  Genre: 'Heavy Metal' -  Release Date: '5th January 2015'

Our Rating:
They might think the contradiction of the name is clever, but it’s just a straight oxymoron. Name-checking Lacuna Coil, Machinehead, Trivium et al, Unforseen Prophecy do the contrasting vocals thing: burned throat male snarl duels with clean female vocals against a backdrop of chugging riffs and squealy notes. In all, this tree-tracker’s heaviness is matched by its corniness and the cliché of the fretwanking solos. If you think the cover art’s bd, then you’d do well to avoid the music.

Bet they weren’t expecting that panning when they were in the studio, eh? Or maybe they were....
