Review: 'Council Tax Band'
'Hannah & Barbara EP'

-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: 'November 2014'

Our Rating:
Spiky guitars and fizzy, fuzzy bass propelled by piston percussion provide the energetic backdrop to Council Tax Band’s scathing socio-political dissections. The ‘Hannah & Barbara’ EP is a bit of a concept piece (sort of), the five tracks evolved by the band’s two female members, Laura and Charlie.

They’ve really upped the racket and the aggro for this offering, spitting bile in all directions. Council Tax Band don’t so much as straddle the class divide but trample all over it with their kitchen-sink anti-dramas about Jobcentres, jobsworths and everyday idiots, they capture the hum-drum and distil it into some exhilarating indie punk rock nuggets.
