Review: 'WARD THOMAS'
'In The Bleak Midwinter'

-  Label: 'wtw Music/I-tunes'
-  Genre: 'Alt/Country' -  Release Date: '12th December 2014'

Our Rating:
For Christmas Grinches like this writer, this single has the distinct advantage of being bleak and depressing but also beautifully sung acapella by Ward Thomas. It has enough echo on it that it could have been sung in a church.

Ward Thomas are releasing this single as a way of Commemorating the Christmas truce in World War One and the accompanying video shows the bleak and dreadful nature of that most abhorrent and pointless conflict.

The single is raising money for Homeless Veterans online and Volksbund online which is admirable as sadly the stupid politicians who send the soldiers into conflict never seem to want to care for them afterwards when they come back damaged.

Obviously this won't be played next year when Ward Thomas play their next UK tour. The tickets for which are already on sale here Music Glue online.
