Review: 'Never A Hero'
'UnEvolution'

-  Album: 'UnEvolution'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '30th March 2015'

Our Rating:
While it’s not released until the end of March, Never a Hero will be giving away their debut album to all ticketholders on their upcoming UK tour in February. It’s a pretty good deal, that’s for sure. There are no two ways about it, ‘UnEvolution’ packs some bluster and an abundance of bright, overdriven guitars with some real poke. It also balances a tangible, clenched-fist aggression and bile-spitting vocals with some big, shoutalong choruses. Large parts of the album do have a very turn of the millennium nu-metal feel, updated for the post Enter Shikari generation, with glittering dance and club-friendly beats propelling wild guitar solos.

‘Not Too Cool to Dance’ features rappy verses alternating with big melodic choruses and an electro groove underpinning the chunky power chords. Elsewhere, ‘Kramr’ bursts with bombast and ‘Succubus’ brings a casket of theatrical drama to proceedings and the closer, ‘Time to Crucify’ goes all-out for the anthemic finale.
