Dreamy electropop… incorporating oriental and pan-cultural motifs atop swathes of widescreen synths, there’s a very euro(vision) feel to Hannah Schneider’s brand of smooth pop. Which is fair enough: Hannah is Danish, and this is her third LP, but her first to receive a UK release. ‘Everything’ has echoes of Aneka’s 1981 hit ‘Japanese Boy’, albeit as performed by Orange Deluxe.
Elsewhere, glittering 60s pop and disco infuse ‘Life is Easy’, and as a whole, ‘Red Lines’ is brimming with breezy tunes and lighter-than-air melodies. Unfortunately, while it’s easy on the ear repeat listens reveal it to be catchy but a little lacking in substance.
