Review: 'ECOVILLAGE'
'One Step Above'

-  Label: 'Nature Bliss'
-  Genre: 'Ambient' -  Release Date: '16th December 2014'

Our Rating:
Since the band's name makes you think of sustainable resources it seems appropriate that the energy on this album should be expended at such a modest level.

Emil Holmström and Peter Wikström's expressed aim of keeping things minimal means that the Swedish duo's third album is full of serene piano and mellow synthetic beats.

Even guest vocalist Hjalmark Norberg is required to do little more than intone the title of The Beating Of Your Heart.

You Got Me (Marcus Guentner Version) extends the four minute opening track by a further three and a half minutes to embrace the tune's Orb like glow. Can it be a coincidence that little fluffy clouds feature on the cover art?

Overall, this album offers forty five minutes of calming ambient bliss with Moments Of Divine Harmony, the title of closing track, accurately summarizing the album's content.
