So I was taking it easy like Sunday morning with a freshly-ground coffee (black, five sugars) and a bourbon (biscuit, not whiskey, I’m not that rock ‘n’ roll) and watching the cringefest that is ‘Sunday Brunch’ when they cut to a break via an upcoming tune that shook me from my torpor and made me sit up. “I’ve heard this song!” I said, waving a finger at the screen.
Said song was ‘I’ve Seen Your Face in a Music Magazine’, the third and final track off their explosive debut EP, ‘ Wet Dream Fanzine’. It’s hardly your regular ‘Brunch’ fodder. It’s not total shit for a start, and it’s not limp contemporary folk or damp electro-pop or indie, No, it’s driving alt-rock, and the three-track release clocks in at a mere six minutes.

The title track is a super-revved blast of guitar-driven skewed pop excitement, and the searing punk frenzy of ‘The Death of Television’ hits like a series of slaps round the face and is over before you know it’s started.
The aforementioned ‘I’ve Seen Your Face’ is a hyped-up slice of life that takes on celebrity culture while coming on like The Adverts being covered by DZ Deathrays. Grungy, punky and poppy, it’s a complete rush.
Pant-creamingly exciting stuff.
