The Italian band's name refers to theories about Mayan’s contacts with alien visitors, ancient space astronauts and way back to the origin and evolution of life on planet earth.
These cosmic themes were evident in the title if their debut album: Analogic Signals From The Sun' but the Sci-Fi components are not particularly prominent in their sophomore release.
The songs (in English) are composed by co-founders and writers / musicians / multi-instrumentalists Alessandro Antonel and Marco Pagot.
Texture-wise, these are more soft pop than hard rock with ’60s and ’70s British psychedelica being a strong influence. In early Pink Floyd terms they are more akin to 'See Emily Play' than 'Interstellar Overdrive' with a few 'Obscured By Clouds' elements thrown in for good measure.
The dreamy The Way To Have Happiness ("waiting for the rainbow") and jangly While The Day Explodes In The Summer Sunshine give a good idea of the feel good mood.
The first single, Kill The Machine, is (as the video shows) not so peace abiding but, on record, the aggressive emotions are still strangely muted.
You get the constant feeling that a more abrasive sound is struggling to emerge but is never fully unleashed.
