Review: 'DIGE, SALLY'
'Hard To Please'

-  Label: 'Night School Records'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '11th May 2015'

Our Rating:
Sally Dige is a disco photogenic Teutonic blonde from Vancouver currently based in Berlin where she works as a visual artist.

The strong impression is that her look is as important as her music; something she all but confirms when she says that she writes songs as soundtracks to images.

Consequently, her portentous and pretentious debut album is big on drama and low on emotional content.

The eight tracks depict love as a tormented source of transient pleasure summed up with titles like Immaculate Deception and Dance Of Delusion .

This is little more than a revamp of 80s era synth-pop which brazenly taps into early Madonna, Italo-disco pop, early 4AD, Fad Gadget; effectively checking all the old boxes without adding any new ones.
