Review: 'Worry Dolls'
'Burden (EP)'

-  Genre: 'Folk' -  Release Date: '18th June 2015'

Our Rating:
Since I embarked on my accidental career as a music reviewer, I’ve been exposed to an innumerable quantity of artists I would never have otherwise heard, many of whom I would have never given the time of day in times gone by. My tastes have diversified, for certain, but moreover, I’ve tried (generally) to give each artist a fair hearing and an objective review.

So, Worry Dolls re completely not to my taste; I would never listen to their kind of spirited, rootsy Americana folk through choice or for pleasure at home. But, it’s easy to hear the appeal of their close harmonies and toe-tapping melodies. Similarly, I wouldn’t pay to stand and watch a band like this live, but as the backdrop to a night out, or alongside other acts, I can feel the life bursting from the songs and know that they’d be a fantastic, fun band to see.

All of this is my way of saying it’s not my scene, but there’s no doubting their musical abilities, or their composition skills, and there’s no denying their quality.
