Review: 'Arrows of Love'
'Pretend Friends'

-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '8th June 2015'

Our Rating:
It’s been a crazy ride for Arrows of Love so far: from a bunch of self-released singles to the breakthrough release of ‘Honey’ and an astounding debut album in the shape of the scuzzy, nihilistic squall that was ‘Everything’s Fucked’, and culminating in a triumphant assault on SXSW. Bookending this period before they embark on album number two, there’s a single release for ‘Pretend Friends’.

It’s a two-and-a-half blast of cronky guitars and spitting bile that starts steady and then gets bigger and nastier and messier until it’s simply exploding in all directions. As such, it’s largely representative of the sonic havoc the band have earned a reputation for. Gnarly, squally and absolutely belting.
