Review: 'CALM FOR THE RESTLESS'
'Destroyed But Not Defeated EP'

-  Label: 'Self Released'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '4th September 2015'

Our Rating:
Calm For The Restless are a quintet from Stevenage, Hertfordshire. Good hard working lads I don't doubt but they fail to score many points for originality.

They are optimistically described as UK 'Alt-Rockers' but sadly, there is nothing remotely alternative about the 5 tunes on a broadly nautical theme which make up the band's second EP.

The breathless voice of Don Macauley tries unsuccessfully to summon up some emotional substance from a series of dull platitudes about feeling lost, alone and generally shipwrecked.

Meanwhile the arrangements follow an all too familiar light metal formula complete with a brash male chorus that sound like a bunch of drunken sailors.
