Review: 'Random Hand'
'Hit Reset'

-  Album: 'Hit Reset' -  Label: 'Bomber Music'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '2nd October 2015'

Our Rating:
‘Hit Reset’ marks the apparent departure of Keighley’s finest genre-mashing ska band following the announcement that after 13 years and five albums, they’d be taking an indefinite break to spend time with their families. Ska brass and genre-standard reggae-style clean guitar are kept to a minimum (the by-numbers ‘After the Alarm’ notwithstanding): the album instead powers along with solid overdriven guitars and urgent drumming. Anger and frustration are the primary emotions articulated across the 12 energetic tracks.

‘If I Save Your Back’ falls to the trappings of fairly standard contemporary punk, with ‘woooh-oooaahhh’ backing vocals but its message of solidarity is delivered with sincerity and the dubby breakdown in the middle is nicely atmospheric.

The album is carried by its irrepressible energy, and it makes for a pretty strong sign off.
