I can’t say I’m digging the band name – it sound pretentious, while the single’s title sounds like some bad cod reggae. And so, nothing about this release hints at the kicking piece of rock that ‘Me Can Out’ is. Driven by a thudding bassline, it’s alt-rock with some proper nuts and a rip-roaring chorus.
‘Me can Out’ isn’t centred around the lazy, repeated hook that so often gets branded as ‘anthemic’ these days, but is the kind of song you used to get back in the late 80s and early 90s, when ‘indie’ and ‘alternative’ actually meant something. Since post punk, the 80s, grunge and Britpop revivals have been done and done to death, what say it’s time for Sonificade to lead the 90s ‘alternative’ revival?
