Two words: pop punk. That’s pretty much all you need to know. Well, more or less. In fairness, ‘Storyteller’ showcases a guitar sound that’s denser, heavier and chunkier than your average pop punk effort, and this certainly places the band above many of their peers. It’s solid enough, the band attack the songs with suitable energy and vigour, and the production is good, pitching the guitars up in the mix and giving more power to the woah-hoah hollering. But it’s still pop punk.
