Review: 'Furian'
'What's Up'

-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '22nd July 2016'

Our Rating:
Liverpool’s musical heritage is marked, more than anything, by the diversity of its most celebrated bands: from The Beatles and the Merseybeat scene, via the gloomy post-punk of Echo and the Bunnymen and the bombastic pop of WAH!, to janglesome indie courtesy of the Las and The Zutons – and not forgetting Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

Four-piece Furian combine elements of alt-rock and post-hardcore to create something that’s different again. ‘What’s Up’ isn’t a question, it’s a statement, and the track packs a mean punch, with a jolting stop/start guitar riff contrasting with chiming post-rock passages, and Dan Martin-Hall effortlessly switching between a full-throated roar to an altogether more melodic vocal style to good effect.
