Our Rating:
This is The Fuzz's third album in 12 years, or it was when it came out last year so at this point it's more like 13 years. It's also the first recorded in a real studio and it finds these West Seattle rockers ready for a bit of a break out. OK, scratch that - if not a break out, then at least making sure they are heard more widely than before.

I Can't Wait bursts out the speakers like a cocksure Stooges obsessed garage rock monster which just makes me want to turn it up and get moving. Too Bad continues in a similar vein but dials the strut in a bit and adds in some nice harmonies on that angsty chorus shouts of "it's too bad" before they tell us all the things she's done to piss him off.

Wilt has one of those storming Sweet-style riffs and lyrics about a pussy-obsessed rock god. It works really well as the James Williamson style guitar solo kicks in and it's a fine song. Charley Horse slows things down a bit and it doesn't appear to be about monster drug problems but more about his other half going on the missing list again. Whatever the truth, it's played like a bruised Nikki Sudden rocker.

Girl is not a cover of the Suicide classic but a slow, more ruminative song wherein the singer really sounds like Dan Stuart on either of his last two solo albums which is way cool in my book.

She Believes is urgent and frantic: a real speed demon of a 57 second song that is followed by the equally frantic, 1 minute 40 second long Locked Out which is about being, er, locked out naturally. Only this time because his other half has changed the locks. Or has he not paid the rent, perhaps?

Loaded has some insane guitars and screamed vocals to make sure you know that they are properly loaded and the amps are set to overload as they totally lose the plot and go out of their minds in the best possible ways they can. The album ends with the urgent and angry as all hell Call The Cops as they threaten to burn their city down to the ground. It's frantic angry and damn I want to listen to this again and again!
