There's red blood in the bluegrass as this six piece string band from Northern Ontario reveal an obsession with murky murder ballads.
Their third album features eleven rollicking tracks of jealousy, revenge or drunken rage and includes a cover of Guy Clark's The Last Gunfighter Ballad.
Aside from the classic pistol, a variety of weapons are used for the killings - a rock (Duck Cove), bare fists (Movin' On) and a knife (Half Hitch Knot)
"There's no room in heaven for sinners and fools" is the warning pronounced on When The Lord Calls Your Name but for this bunch it's evident that redemption can wait.
Lively, fun but too one-paced unless you happen to adore tales of death and depravity as much as they do.
