Review: 'LIGHTFOOT, TERRA'
'Every Time My Mind Runs Wild'

-  Label: 'Sonic Uniyon Records'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '26th August 2016'

Our Rating:
Terra Lightfoot is a rootsy Canadian woman who is no relation to Gordon.

Her eponymous debut was a quiet, gentle album but for her sophomore release she sings in a more full-blooded, mannish style and plays electric guitar in a bluesier manner.

Despite inching towards a muddier sound, this does not denote a more cynical or hard-edged attitude. Her new songs are still primarily about being happy in love.

The line that gives the album its title comes in No Hurry:"Every time my mind runs wild you are always where it goes, and I like to waste my time with you".

The oo-la-las backing Never Will and sha-la-las on Emerald Eyes are indications that she remains more at home in the world of soft, commercial pop.

As such, the songs amount to no more than pleasant distractions rather than anything more enduring.
