Review: 'As the Sun Sleeps'
'As Good as Gold (EP)'

-  Genre: 'Punk/New Wave' -  Release Date: '20th January 2017'

Our Rating:
Oh good. Pop-punk. From Swindon. This is clearly what the world needs to get 2017 off to a flying start, to help everyone get over the depressingly awful shitstorm that was 2016. Three cheers for As the Sun Sleeps! With jaunty, fast-paced guitar-driven tunes about giving up drinking, relationships, self-pity and, er, relationships. You know, the heavyweight stuff that really matters.

Joe Beck has a rather thin, boyish voice, and the lead guitar parts (courtesy of Tom “Trees” Rees – the other band members also have ‘fun’ nicknames, like TShrimp and Broady. Really, aren’t they so zany? What a hoot!) are irritatingly busy.

Aside from that, there really isn’t much to distinguish these guys from countless other bands of their ilk.
