Review: 'A PROJECTION'
'Framework'

-  Label: 'Tapete'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '13th January 2017'

Our Rating:
A PROJECTION are from Stockholm and this is their second album. Their intention was to capture the restlessness and isolation of being in a large city and whilst it is difficult to judge how successful they have been in that respect, they have certainly produced a cohesive and enjoyable album.

Fans of Depeche Mode and Joy Division may well find something pleasurable to grab hold of here. There is enough bombast and pop in the songs to fill a stadium and enough edge to keep the gloomy indie kids well...err...gloomy I guess. 'Dark City' even reminds me of Sisters Of Mercy's 'Wasteland' and 'Transition' brings to mind the more sombre end of the Men Without Hats spectrum. "No more singing on the dancefloor".

'Scattered' sounds like the single. Propulsive, strident and with a snaky guitar motif, it probably will have them singing on the dancefloor. 'No Light' is another similarly driving track. 'Next Time' sounds like it might be turning Japanese, yes I really think so. 'Betrayal' is another potential crowd favourite which mines the eighties. The album finishes off in brooding fashion with the heavier sound of 'Listen To The Dark'. It's a good album which may well bring them to a wider audience.
