On the strength of this, their first single, it’s hard to identify any obvious sports connections. According to the press release, the track voices frustrations at the relationship routine through vocal hooks over booming drums and talkative guitars. It also promises ‘raw, energetic and infectious indie rock’. And with a driving rhythm section propelling a direct, unpretentious song with a bittersweet feel and keen catchiness, it’s not hard to determine the appeal.
