Review: 'EXPLODING EYES'
'Exploding Eyes'

-  Label: 'Big Neck Records'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '27th January 2017'

Our Rating:
On Spotify, the 'explicit' warning is applied to all ten tracks on this Dublin power trio's debut release. This seems a tad over protective but I'm sure the boys in the band are probably quite pleased with this state of affairs.

Rest assured that unless you are offended by the raw, sexed up, pre-punk of Blue Cheer, MC5 and The Stooges you will have nothing to fear and plenty to enjoy.

Produced by Jim Diamond (White Stripes, Sonics), Exploding Eyes never stray far from the fast and furious template established by those classic garage rockers and why on earth should they?

Madman's Lament is the most ambitious but least dynamic track with broody balladry mixed in with the straightforward riffing.

The threesome are at their best when they keep things simple as in no frills songs like We Need Love and Need Somebody.

As far as formulas go, this may be one dimensional but what a dimension! And as the man said, if it ain't broke why fix it?
