Review: 'FOXPALMER'
'Locked In Memory EP'

-  Label: 'ScreamLite Records'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '28th April 2017'

Our Rating:
Foxpalmer, aka Fern McNulty, is a young Tamworth-born, London-based woman who writes and sings soul-searching songs about love, longing and loneliness.

Her debut EP features band versions of six tracks and two alternate acoustic takes of the songs Alone and Fault

She's an all or nothing kind of girl. "I don't want love if it's not with you" is the plaintive refrain of Where Do You Sleep Tonight?

McNulty has a decent voice and has clearly done a thorough study of the female artists she admires, e.g. Sheryl Crow or Alanis Morissette.

Unfortunately, this also means that the emotional content which she intends to be "deep tearful and soulful" sounds more mannered than heartfelt.
