What the actual? ‘Set the pace or let the pace set you!’ they holler acapella like a second-rate Beastie Boys tribute before a Bill and Ted guitar lick widdles in over some kind of progressive metal / post-hardcore hybrid musical backdrop. What are these guys trying to be?
‘Of Revelations’ is a respectable chunk of riffy neoprog which packs some beefy guitars behind a vocal delivery that’s strong on emotion without being overwrought. Closer ‘Bloom’ has a weirdly messy start but finally powers into driving groove that’s dense enough to withstand the surfeit of busy fretwork on top.
