Review: 'BROCKMANN & BARGMANN'
'Licht'

-  Label: 'Bureau B'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '20th October 2017'

Our Rating:
Brockmann and Bargmann were both in Camera and together they explore landscapes of sound and don't they do it well.

Bureau B keep the standards high but this is the best of recent releases. Krautrock never went away, it evolved and this is what it became. The tracks move seamlessly one to another and are just about perfect. A mind melting, heart breaking, melding of guitar and synth. Celestial in its horizons.

The track "Prisma" is a good example of what they do. Different mixes comprising of various layers became structured as overlays resulting in the finished piece. The spell is only broken on track 9 "Schatten" which is a tour de force of tribal drumming courtesy of Achim Farber. It is a great track in its own right but due to previous perfection issues it seems a little out of place.

The three tracks which follow find it difficult to pick up the pace again but still they don't detract from what is an amazing album, if anything it is just the point at which the mood changes storm clouds gather. In space.
