Review: 'ELLISTER, JACK'
'Tune Up Your Ministers ........'

-  Label: 'Fruits De Mer Records'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '20th November 2017'

Our Rating:
The full title of this album is "Tune up your ministers and start transmission from pool holes to class o hypergiants" and there are no prizes for guessing that the contents are "of the acid and psychedelic kind".

Jack Ellister is a Dutchman now based in London who once led a band called Yordan Orchestra who also specialized in Psych-Rock.

To say that his music evokes a bygone age is putting it mildly. From the garish cover artwork (by Anne Von Freyberg) to the rambling kaleidoscope of trippy sounds this record screams 1960s counterculture

The b-side of the single (and opening track) The Man With The Biochopper is a version of The Rolling Stones' 'Citadel' from 'Her Satanic Majesties Request'. This song didn't make it to the album but gives a good indication of Ellister's influences.

If you're still in need of confirmation as to where his mind is at, one track is entitled The sun sends me hails, victory, power peace and shelter to remove all doubt.

With this record you are cordially invited to tune up and drop out.
