Review: 'PBSM'
'Rainbow Girl'

-  Label: 'Mos Mos'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '8th February 2019'

Our Rating:
I’m not sure what PBSM stands for, but The Danish alt rock duo’s new single, which is also the title track from their upcoming EP, plays on sexual identities, roles and gender norms and how these are changing, according to the press release.

It could all to easily be an example of bratty me-me-me generation gender politics bandwagon-jumping, but taking its cues from Hemingway’s ‘The Garden of Eden’, plus tours with Nothing But Thieves and Arrows of Love indicate there’s more to them than that, and ‘Rainbow Girl’ confirms as much.

A laid-back, slow-tempo psychedelic drifter, with drawling vocals and hazy guitars, the lyrics aren’t the first thing you’re likely to be drawn to – and that’s actually ok. There’s no sense that they’re trying to ram a message down anyone’s throat as Lauritz Carlsen croons about getting high. It’s a trip I can dig.
