Review: 'InAir'
'Dreamful (EP)'

-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '13th September 2019'

Our Rating:
I’m still sifting through the heavy burst of releases delivered to the world on the auspicious date of Friday 13th September. And yes, a lot of it has been nothing short of horror.

‘Dreamful’ is the second EP from ‘alt rock’ trio InAir, who are pitched as being for fans of Thirty Seconds to mars, Fightstar, and Linkin Park. Nothing like setting the bar low to raise the reception. Like, promise a turd and if it doesn’t stink, the response will be rapturous. Probably.

They promise ‘atmospheric synths and glistening clean guitar scapes against stout   riffage and hugely anthemic refrains’. And credit where it’s due, they deliver all of those things, which combine to form a predictable package of sincere, angst-laden melody-strong songs that are as distinctive as porridge amongst the slop of sincere, angst-laden melody-strong songs churned out by similarly-‘inspired’ bands for the last decade and a half. In fairness, whole they’re not as memorable as Linkin Park, they’re not as overtly self-important or wanky, which is a plus, but any bonus points are subtracted for them being formulaic as fuck.
