Noam Bleen are an ‘alternative’ rock band from Ravenna (Italy). Their self released debut full length release features ten tracks of melodic prog-rock with more than a hint of Roger Waters and/or Maynard James Keenan. Not really alternative at all in other words.
The core duo of Antonio Baragone and Nick Bussi share the vocals fifty-fifty and play all the instrumentation apart from percussion. For all the professional sound and glossy riffs nothing really sticks to make their sound memorable.
They sing in rudimentary English with lyrics that mostly seem to be about isolation and the failure to communicate meaningfully. For instance, the singer is “silently waiting at your door” on Opera House and “sitting here in my loneliness” on Screenshot.

The band name is an invented pseudonym which is meant to be ambiguous although the word ‘bleen’ is commonly used to denote a blend of blue and green. However you choose to interpret its meaning, it doesn’t mask the lack of distinctive colour and the absence of any unique identity behind the songs.
