Review: 'Arsenic Tea Party'
'The really Not Good Times EP'

-  Label: 'Bandcamp'
-  Genre: 'Heavy Metal' -  Release Date: '14.2.21.'

Our Rating:
Arsenic Tea Party have clearly drunk too much of the poisoned water there hometown of Flint Michigan is infamous for and it's sent them into a deranged state with splintered minds that have put this ep together that often sounds like it's two different bands playing at once.

The Ep opens with 12 Gauge Exit Strategy a song that seems to cram 10 ideas too many into its less than 4 minute length as it goes off in several directions at once, the vocals are chanted and sung as they sing about some of the problems with living in Flint Michigan or the US in 2020 as the brass chirps along against blast beat pummel drumming weird noises and all sorts of other stuff, this is insane music for insane times.

Milk Of Tragedy is Ren & Stimpy style cartoon metal madness that's all over the place and once in a while seems to find some focus mainly in the repeating brass and when the growling vocals take over it gets truly out there, but never less than a scary cartoon soundtrack.

Daddy Delicious' Kum Klub starts like a Rammstein style industrial metal stomper but with indie rock vocals and a breakdown that almost sounds like it comes from an acid house techno record before the riff comes back in and then you start listening to the lyrics and it gets rather disturbing especially the bit with the keyboards.

The EP closes with the frantic and nuts Tommy The Cop with almost operatic vocals and mad music and vocals this is all over the place like Los Plantronics crossed with Dream Theater this is compellingly confused or confusing song as we wonder what happens behind the Blue door as the drill sounds accompany chants of Put you Hands up in a Boo Ya Tribe style. The video of the song helps it to make more sense.
