Our Rating:
Limina is the new project of Tyler Durham who is mainly known as a film and video games soundtrack composer and as I stopped playing video games in the 1980's and haven't seen any of the films he has credits on mentioned in the press release including News Of The World and The Last Ice, so he is a completely new name for me.

From the fade in at the start of Muse it's clear we are in modern classical ambient techno soundscape territory that the slow violin at the centre of the tune only re-enforces as the beauty of the violin is layered over the subtle percussion.

As it moves into Expand it adds some very gentle conga playing and a nice piano line to help with the sense of calm this music should engender in you as the percussion becomes a tiny bit more intrusive but never at anything more than a slow meander.

Ponder takes things down a few notches to being almost not their ambient wallpaper working deep in the background waiting for the piano to start slowly building a way out of the stasis and well helping to find a solution to the problem you Ponder as the strings draw the answers from deep in your sub conscious.

Reflect obviously has you wondering is you have found the right answer, or even if you are trying to answer the correct question as the gentle ululations of the harp like sounds blend into the Violin and Viola that are weaving there way to open up the spaces for the inner reflection you need to happen.

Absorb has drawn the attentions of a squirrel who is now listening and adding odd hissing sounds to the growing keyboards even after evicting him he is tapping on the windows the squirrel definitely approves of Limina and feels Enlightened by the music as he almost dances on the window ledge drawn to the pulsing sounds and almost rain like pitter patter and keyboards shifts showing how this has a meditative almost arboreal feel to it with a sound my squirrel seems to love.
