“All my boundaries are dissolving” confesses Gary Van Miert on the opening track of this eccentric album. The song is called There’s a Hole in the Fabric of My Reality , a title that gives the listener a fair idea of the true nature of this man from Jersey City. The song features sitar, mellotron and theremin.
Van Miert’s influences include gospel, country, Americana, and Rock n’ Roll and this cosmic soup is spiced up with psychedelic ingredients. He names the resulting genre ‘Psychedelic Americana’ and if this all sounds a bit bonkers then that’s because it is.
Despite the whimsical nature of this material he claims that the songs have a spiritual dimension. God is known for moving in mysterious ways but even the most faithful could not have anticipated a soundtrack like this!

In The Psychedelic Cowboy Song Van Miert describes himself as “A trippy cowboy riding on the astral plain.”
If Julian Cope died and was reborn as a Nashville cowboy, he might make an album like this.
