Our Rating:
Cozy Slippers are a Seattle based Dreamy jangle pop trio of Barbara Barrilleaux, Sarah Engel and Steven Skelton. The band's debut album was mixed by Dylan Wall.

The album opens with Haunting Her a classic sounding jangle pop with sweet harmonies in the vocals as we find out just why she is being haunted.

When Will When Come sounds like it's in love with Poe and Katrina And The Waves, this is bright shiny pop to make you feel nice and warm when it finally happens it will be exuberant, but it's never a good time and the guitars fly off, almost sliced by the shattering cymbals.

Unattended is far slower almost pastoral song of forgiveness as you try to move on, although sparer in production this song reminds me of Damon And Naomi's More Sad Hits album.

Nobody Knows Me, Anywhow is quite dreamy full of harmonies floating through the air in the vicinity of Arson Garden.

I Can't Keep you Safe is full of 2020's dread and uncertainty living in a pandemic world, full of climate change catastrophe, storming noises clatter across the mix, the pain of our times is woven into the sorrow of the vocals as they try to give some solace to the listener.

Underneath Us All The Time is the fear of what's happening and what someone is doing to them, things are falling apart and the love expressed in the music is about all that's holding them together, a good guitar solo can work wonders to the spirits before she goes again.

Remi is a love story of a sort, with the percussion punctuating the various events depicted, with Remi replying on what sounds like an answering machine tape, as they declare they'll wait for Remi and the late-night floaty music is dripping with yearning for Remi.

Boat House features an invite to come down to The Boat House and not the one on NCIS Los Angeles, no chance of LL Cool J showing up to spoil the fun, that she wants to have if you'll let her come down to the Boat House, this is super catchy dreamy fun.

Bee Sting was hopefully not written after drinking 5 pints of Bee Sting cider, as although this depicts some messy events between friends, it's not 5 pints of Bee Sting at a Walter Lure gig style messy, but that's another story. In This story they continue to circle each other and try to decide who will sting who.

No Room For The Sun is a song about climate change and how the pollution and clouds are making everything grey once more in autumnal Seattle, this sounds like a slow Bangles song.

Be Alone With me is a plea for a night in to help make her feel good, as she wants to do what you did the last time you were alone together on a Saturday night, how could you say no to her.

First A Girl is a tale of someone how was the first born before three brothers are born, this is gentle hazy hopeful yet brittle pop cocoon she's being enveloped by.
