Chela is the new project by Ajay Saggar from Bhajan Bhoy and Kohhei Matsuda from Bo Ningen who combine to make an album of disturbed ambient noise using Analogue Synths, Banjo's and piano. Chela in this case has nothing to do with the Filipino Australian singer songwriter.
This opens with Flyspray a droning buzzing ambient piece, with sporadic repeating piano lines, as that Fly eludes the spray once more, against the swooshing pulsars.
Appalacho buzzes and crackles as the banjo slowly rears its head, to slowly prize open the parts of your mind where flies circle over you, as you sit by a campfire in the middle of nowhere, as the banjos take over your mind, as things drift and distort, leaving you tripping out in ways you didn't expect.
Heiwa takes a slow carefully played piano line, wrapping it in ambient strings, deep in the wood's percussion noises, both meditative and calming helping you to float away.
Ticker as you'd expect has a ticking sound, that they build the synths and other stuff around, like it's the countdown to some weird dystopian unreality show, where the alleged contestants are being water tortured, as the bleeping sounds increase so does the discomfort.
Tanker sounds like you're trying to squeeze some massive super tanker into a small harbor, long tones, scraping sounds as it scrapes the harbor wall, Foghorns blasting in the darkness, as it slowly sounds like the Tanker is slipping beneath the waves sinking towards a watery grave.
Worship takes a gospel piano line burying it in synths and pulsars as you Worship the outer space gods swooping around enticing you into their world.
