Our Rating:
Stress Sandwich is the latest album by Pheonix based duo Stress Sandwich. The bands synth lord and rap monster is Kalen Lander who is joined on drums and backing vocals by Bentley Monet the album was produced by Ari Leopold at Lava Lake Studios in Phoenix.

The album explodes out of the speakers with Trash, Baby a cheesy synth rap rock song that has smart lyrics, over the at times mad as can be interjections, with screamo vocal parts.

The Snailmate Show is for all you losers and dweebs, that normally get bullied for being other in whatever way, so come join there party where your weirdness is welcomed, in fact it's an essential part of what they are about, they may try to help you, but really you need to help yourself, before they invite themselves round to infest your couch and present The Snailmate show up close and personal.

It's Coming Back! Has rapping about being the weirdest kid in the neighborhood over Casio keyboard dance pop, with howling screamo interludes, as they hope to bring back the good times once more, when they felt comfortable.

Shoulda Brought Snacks or possibly should have taken their caffeine away, as if this got any speedier it would be Crystal meth rap madness, as they want more snacks, as they have the major league munchies, they need lots more artificial coloring to munch on.

The Laziest Man In The World was the single and has a bit of a Tenacious D feel as they admit to prefer to surfing on a couch to real surfing, they have hit the presets on the synths and drum machine, as the rap gets speedier, it's at odds with the message to just chill out and do nothing.

Overwaiter has a spoken word intro like it's going to be along the lines of Lee Perry's The Undertaker before the grindcore vocals come in as distained synth and drum madness bash our brains to pieces, while he's left on hold for another 6 hours to find out if he can get some more money of the government, to stay at home doing nothing, you may want to leave him to wait in peace, the one thing this track is not.

I Know What You Want is another super speedy rap, letting us know all about his intuition for our needs, another bonkers as they come synth rap ear bleeder of a tune obviously.

My Weird Gross Body has rapping about still living with your parents in your 30's, as your career as a music god never really happened, this gets screamo, nasty as it comes, blast core against real life.

Toll Road is expletive laden rant against being made to pay to drive on a Toll Road and other mad concerns they may have, bonkers synth glitch madness and distorted vocals suppurate your ears.

The album closes with Donuts In The Rain that had better be fresher than the ones I was offered on Saturday, as they try to obliterate any memories of MacArthur Park in the grinding, nasty bowel shaking vocals, with bass howling's assaulting your brain, go and get some hot fresh donuts now, to be eaten within 10 minutes of them coming out of the fryer.
